Our Story
It all started when our founder, John Doe, purchased a new home with an in-ground pool. He was excited to start enjoying lazy summer days lounging poolside. But when John removed the pool cover for the first time, he was disappointed to find the liner was already damaged from the rough ground underneath.
John tried everything to smooth out the surface beneath the liner. But no mattress pad or foam sheet fully protected the liner from roots and rocks. He realized a super durable and supportive material was needed. That sparked John to develop the first Rhino Pad prototype in his garage.
After testing different materials, John found a combination of rigid polymer and soft foam that supported the pool liner while cushioning feet. The pad was comfortable to walk on but also blocked debris from poking the liner.
When John shared his invention with friends, he discovered they had the same liner damage issues. Word spread about the Rhino Pad, and John launched a small business out of his home to produce the pads.

Our Process
Producing the most reliable pool pads requires an innovative manufacturing process. Here’s how we make Rhino Pads:
- U.S.-made high-density polymer sheets are thermoformed in a heated press to create a rigid, supportive base. This durable plastic shell prevents rocks and roots from damaging the liner.
- Cushioning foam layers are applied to the top of the pad for comfort underfoot. Our proprietary open-cell foam blend provides just the right balance of softness and support.
- A non-porous, waterproof coating is applied to shield the foam padding from moisture absorption. This maintains cushioning and prevents mold or mildew.
- The pad is sculpted with drainage channels on the underside to prevent puddling. This keeps the pad and liner fully supported.
- Antimicrobial technology infused into the materials inhibits bacteria, mold and fungal growth.
- Pads are available in round, oval, and rectangular shapes to fit pools of any shape and size. Each one is trimmed and finished neatly by hand.
- Final quality control checks ensure dimensional accuracy and flawless construction.
